Hard work, dedication, perseverance, consistency, motivation, determination.
Notice I left out the word talent, and my reason for that is because I feel there are many people that are talented but not everybody works hard. There’s a quote that I live by when it comes to sports.
Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.
I love everything there is about sports, from the preparation to being out on the field/court for practices or game day. Playing sports has taught me many things and it has helped mold me into the person I am today.
One important goal that I look forward to achieving is being able to mentor and or be a positive male role model to youth across the nation. I feel I will be able to accomplish that goal working in this environment.
I have learned many valuable lessons that can be transferred over to the real world. There is always a winner and a loser In sports, as it is outside of the sports world. The question is how do you respond when you face adversity? I feel that you learn more from losing than you do winning. What I mean by that is, when you lose you are able to go back and look at the areas that you made mistakes and correct them.
One of the best teachers in life is experience, we learn things as we experience them.
